Shall we play the game? Conquering the real estate market
I want to share my plans to take over the real estate market on one particular planet. It's going to take a lot of doing, I'm ready. Yes, and most importantly I know what to do. We start with Moscow. This month.
My idea to open my agency to sell expensive apartments was born more than a year ago, when I set a goal in St. Petersburg to buy an apartment in «Tsar's Capital», a good residential complex in the city center near Nevsky Prospekt.
I called the sales department. I was asked if I had seen the site. I told them that I had looked at the site and everything suited me. The manager insisted that I still need to go to see it myself. So I went. Nobody was interested in my phone number or my name in the sales department of the developer. They just weren't asked.
A cheerful woman in a helmet at the construction site showed me several options and I booked a suitable one. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed that the reservation and the list of apartments is kept in Excel. I asked how to mortgage this apartment, to which I received a crooked photocopy of a sheet of paper with the city phone numbers of three banks. Get on the phone, find out.
I decided to call the sales department first and asked if they could help me gather the documents and send them to several banks at once. They don't provide that service. Let's do it ourselves somehow. If you're approved, dial in and we'll talk.
With the tenth time dialed Gazprombank and asked to approve the mortgage. The girl who answered the phone cheerfully asked if I worked at Gazprom. After my answer that I do not work yet, the friendliness in her voice disappeared. With cold phrases the girl on the other end of the phone told me to download the questionnaire, fill it out, and send it to the e-mail.
My assistant filled out the 14 sheet questionnaire, attached all the documents and we started waiting for a reply. A week later the bank wrote that the questionnaire on the site was old and we should fill out another one. We did it. Silence. We sent a request, and how long to wait for a decision? In response a letter with the verbatim text: very long, wait.
