Ah, “Vernissage,” ah, “Vernissage”

Today we’ll take a look at the far reaches of Zamoskvorechye, where, amid merchant mansions and quiet side streets, the “Vernissage” sculpture househas emerged.

The eight-story building stands out against the backdrop of the neighboring buildings with its huge arched windows and unusual facade. The architects from the ABG firm seem to have taken an Italian Renaissance palazzo and reimagined it in the Art Deco style.

Look at the window design. Several stone arches are nested within one another, creating the effect of folds in fabric. This pattern is repeated on every floor, and the corners of the building are smoothly rounded. The result is a sculptural architecture that evokes the ripples created when a stone is thrown into water.

To be fair, the developer “Zikkurat” got a serious dressing-down for replacing the curved glass at the corners with sectional glass.

Inside, the architectural concept continues. The ceilings are adorned with stucco moldings. Large crystal chandeliers hang from the ceilings. In the lobby, guests are greeted by a plaster sculpture of a nude David.

The basement level features a sauna, a hammam, a small gym, and a wine room. Parking for 22 cars.

The building has eight floors and 26 apartments, including two penthouses on the top floor. Whitewill currently has a 210 m² penthouse for sale for ₽160 million.
