“Polyanka/44”—A Cozy Story in Zamoskvorechye

This summer, I stopped by one of Zamoskvorechye’s most notable new developments—the “Polyanka/44” club mansion complex—with my beloved iPhone.
The project consists of eight mansions, three of which are historic buildings designed by architect Gustav Gelrich in the early 20th century for the merchant Malyshev. While working on the facade, various stuccoed masonry amulets, bowls, and stars were discovered; these had been added during construction by the architect and the client to protect the home’s owners.
