The “Warm Shopping Arcades”—abandoned historic mansions right behind GUM—were not demolished. They were carefully restored, preserving their original decor. Plus, three more buildings in a similar style were built nearby.
The project was initially launched by the developer “Inteko,” and then Sminex took over. The result is the quiet, luxury-class “Ilyinka 3/8” neighborhood—a complex of seven white-stone mansions in the Neo-Russian style, ranging from four to five stories. The project is located in the “Teplye Riad” area behind GUM—just 300 meters from the Kremlin.
The renovation project was designed by the Russian firm Kleinewelt Architekten. The facades, featuring arched details, create an air of elegance that blends beautifully with the historic mansions. The entrances to the residences will be adorned with replicas of the reliefs from the facades of the ancient St. George’s Cathedral in Yuryev-Polsky, Vladimir Oblast.
The complex will feature a fitness club and a restaurant, as well as a cozy park and an underground parking garage
