Crystal Forest “Kutuzovsky, 12”

My iPhone captured “12 Kutuzovsky” — an 11-story club house developed by Capital Group. It looks especially romantic after sunset thanks to the striking illuminated columns that run the entire height of the main facade.

The building’s architecture, in the Neoclassical and Art Deco styles, was designed by the firm “Tsimailo, Lyashenko & Partners.” The building’s granite facade is adorned with 50-meter-tall quartz glass columns.

The capitals and fasteners are made of brass—its warm color gives the colonnade a stately appearance. Lighting on the facades and in the courtyard creates a cozy atmosphere after dark. 

To the left of the building, in a green park, there is a small four-seasons garden that changes colors depending on the time of year. Next to it is a European-style, minimalist playground in subdued tones.

The interiors of the three lobbies are styled after protected natural areas in Russia: a birch grove in the central region, the Siberian taiga, and a Far Eastern bamboo forest.

On the walls, vibrant mosaics sit alongside understated brass, while the ceiling light fixtures seem to be an extension of this fantastical forest with hundreds of tree trunks.
