"House on Mosfilmovskaya" - the second tower in Ramenki after Moscow State University
quote
Sergei Skuratov's scandalous project - more on that below - set a new bar for high-rise architecture in Moscow in 2012. It collected 6 awards, including Arch Moscow and the global CTBUH Awards for the best high-rise buildings.
He showed in his own way - how to build skyscrapers not for offices in the City, but for ordinary life in apartments on 30+ floors. Yes, without club infrastructure, but with a recognizable silhouette and picturesque views of the City, the river and the Olympic bowl in the green - Luzhniki.
The new dominant "House on Mosfilmovskaya" is the second tower above Sparrow Hills that you can see - as you rush along the TTC. Second after Moscow State University.
One for the whole neighborhood
Skuratov mixed styles like ingredients for a salad - modernism of Le Corbusier with his houses on legs, texture and plasticity of art deco and hi-tech with panoramic windows.
The resulting two towers are 52 and 32 stories with a common atrium. Fractured spotty facades of stone and glass: dark from below and light limestone and marble from above - looking at them you can't believe that the House seems to have risen above the ground. And soars above Mosfilmovskaya. So work 17-meter legs - of rough gray granite in three rows of zigzags.
What's the scandal
In 2004, they agreed on a 165-meter-high project and began construction in 2006. In the process, Skuratov raised the height to 213 meters - and MSU is only 183 meters without a spire - and then the questions began. Wouldn't the panorama from the Novodevichy Convent be spoiled? In 2008 they sent a request to UNESCO and they approved it. They continued to build, but they kept pushing back the deadlines.
Already in 2010 the authorities wanted to recognize the project as self-building, that the height was raised illegally - they planned to dismantle 22 floors. And then the leading Moscow architects Alexander Asadov, Pavel Andreev, Nikita Biryukov, Sergei Choban and Mikhail Khazanov wrote to the mayor - they built a third of all modern elite real estate in the capital. In the end, the project was completed in 2012 - completely according to the master's idea.
