Residential Complex "Vasilievskaya 13" on the site of "Cinema House" - first renderings

The old movie theater on Vasilievskaya is leaving the stage. On its platforms will soon grow a glass enormous 28-storey building. Presnensky district. The address is loud. Nearby are buzzing Belorussky Station and Tverskaya Street, but here is still silence.

The light in the windows of the "House of Cinema" went out at the end of January. Since then, the site was surrounded by deaf shields. Behind them swarming machinery, preparing for a large construction site.

The author of the idea of reconstruction - director Nikita Mikhalkov. Under his command, papers went to the offices of the capital's officials. The plan was simple: tear down the old walls, in their place to build an expensive apartment building, and next to add a new movie theater.

"First Developer" took the job. The name of the project was given according to the residence - laconically and precisely: "Vasilievskaya, 13". It sounds like a code for your own people or a password to a closed club.

The plot of land is not small - almost 30,000 m². The residential part will take up just under half of it. The rest will be used for public spaces and a concert hall.

Architects from the Kleinewelt bureau have designed a tower 135 meters high. Only 72 apartments will be housed inside. At the level of the 7th floor will be a garden, the courtyard will be closed from prying eyes. In the lower part of the building will be located a new center for filmmakers with two halls, galleries for exhibitions and a restaurant. The place will be lively and bustling.

However, the old building of the "Cinema House" will not disappear in the dust of construction debris. The facade will remain the same, even the metal curl with a movie film over the front entrance will not go anywhere. Only the blank panels will be replaced by huge glass. The building will be light and transparent.

The first pictures of the future skyscraper have leaked online. So far this is just a fantasy of artists - the project is at the stage of sketches. But the direction of thought is already clear, and the view from the windows promises to be "postcard".
