“17 Savvinskaya” — a prestigious little gem in Khamovniki
One of my goals is to shoot all the iconic projects and locations in the cities where Whitewill sells real estate. Through photo stories, I try to capture the atmosphere and architectural details of these locations to help our clients find the right place to live or invest.
Right next to the sculptural building at 27 Savvinskaya on the embankment stands another building from “Level”—the compact clubhouse “Savvinskaya, 17.”
The building is quite intimate. It has 22 apartments spread over 4 floors. The building permit specified a height of 28 meters, but only four stories could be built. 28 / 4 = 7.
Each floor has seven-meter-high ceilings, with the option to build a second level inside the apartment.
In other words, you can keep the huge seven-meter-high space with a second light source in the living room and turn the rest of the apartment into a two-level unit. This layout is rare for Moscow.
The building is designed to look like a block carved from light-colored stone. The facades are assembled from large panels with a terrazzo effect. The lot is small and has a steep elevation change. Therefore, the living space was separated from the ground and raised above a stylobate on a glass base.
From the embankment, it appears as though the massive house is suspended above the ground. This also helped open up views of the Moskva River from the apartments.
A small, cozy courtyard stretches out behind the house. The landscaping was designed by Wowhaus. White retaining walls follow the complex contours of the lot. Between them are plenty of greenery and small relaxation areas. The result is a small garden, tucked away from the bustling waterfront.
The parking facility here is automated and accommodates 21 cars. The driver leaves the car in a glass bay, and the system then automatically moves it to an underground parking space. All upper-level units come with terraces.
The building has been completed. Keys have been handed over. The developer still has four apartments for sale, two of which have terraces. The building is seamlessly integrated into the Savvinskaya Embankment. It was a particular challenge for me to find angles where the architecture is clearly visible and nothing obstructs the view. I think I managed it.
