Whitewill people. Alexei
Oleg Torbosov, founder of Whitewill, tells us.
Alexey was sitting across from me on the other edge of the big table at Bamba Bar, typing something into his smartphone. He had a deal to do in the morning. Besides us at my traditional founder's dinner for Wytheville's top employees, there were six other brokers from different departments and several executives.
Over the course of this winter, Alexei sold more than any other manager in the company and earned "Dominator" status for the first time. In addition to an invitation to my cozy dinner and good bonuses from deals, such an employee gets a trip to warm countries at the company's expense or a cool gadget with an apple as a gift from "Whiteville".
But this victory was not easy for Lyokha - to beat a dozen other strong brokers from the team he had to work hard.
For the first time this intelligent modest guy with glasses, dressed invariably in business casual or in a classic suit, crossed the threshold of the office "Wytheville" in September 2019. Before that, Alexey worked for a long time as a sales manager in "Donstroy", so we practically from scratch had to introduce him to the market of correct and high-quality real estate in Moscow.
It took Lyokha four months to get to his first deal at Whiteville. He sold a small apartment in "Wings" for only 19,000,000₽, and realized that he was not doing well. Either the hard schooling from his last job was having an effect, or his slightly over-intellectualized, detail-oriented conversation pattern. I didn't have time to figure it out.
Then we decided to say goodbye and let Alexey go back to quiet salary swimming in the sales office of a new project on Paveletskaya. But half a year later he appeared on the doorstep of our office again - still in the same stern glasses and white shirt, but now with a strong desire to become the best broker of the company. Welcome home to the Whiteville family.
Lyokha started to get the hang of it. Recruiting clients, he went out on shift after shift, substituting for other brokers on duty. He was the first to show up at the office and the last to leave. It turned out that he was not so much driven by the desire to be the first - his son had heart surgery in September, and the family had a mortgage. Income is determined by the need for income.
And the deals went in. I won't list them all, I'll just say that in December Alexei sold eight good lots, including a penthouse with a terrace in the Turandot clubhouse for 245,000,000₽. He had seven deals last month - every four days our chat exploded with congratulations for Lyokha.
Well, I'm in my fifth year of watching with professional interest the stories of explosive success and life turbulence in the path of my brokers. Someone never succeeds in selling premium real estate - we are forever apart. Some, like Lyokha, give up at first, but then find the strength to come back and win. My job is to believe in the right person.
Behind every win is hard work, involvement, diligence. Yes, you can't write off luck, but luck is the meeting of willingness with opportunity. We create it ourselves, because for you to be lucky, you need to be in the right place at the right time.
If you're a strong luxury real estate broker in Moscow, come work at Wytheville and I'd love to write a post about your win. "Whiteville is more than just a job.
I'm writing this text and at the same time I'm starting to pack my suitcase - tomorrow, together with thirty guys from my team for four days I'm flying to our favorite Rixos, this time to Belek, Turkey. Celebrate our victories at my expense.
